Very sturdy, super easy assembly, with clear instruction (words and drawings). Parts labeled well and even a little packet of 'extra parts'. We bought this as a student chair knowing it was not going to be as big as our large high-back office chairs. It is small, but as I said, very sturdy and the lever to raise and lower is awesome. Casters roll well and the seat and back are nicely padded and very comfortable. Only down side is that it is a small chair so don't expect a big-guy sized chair. Perfect for a woman or student with a small frame. We love it. The photo shows this chair next to our standard full-sized office chair. The back on this one is 19" from seat to top of the back.

My review after owning and using this chair everyday for one year.

THE BAD
The seat cushion has gone completely flat and is completely useless after one year. Feels like I'm sitting on wooden bleacher seats.
This is the reason I gave only one star. The sole purpose of a chair is to comfortably hold your bottom.

The GOOD
The chair itself has actually held up very well. The back, arms and tilt function all work perfectly with no signs of wear.

If you buy this, buy an additional seat cushion as well. Trust me on this one.

Possibly the least comfortable chair I've ever owned. There's what feels like a sharp, rigid edge, just underneath the upper padding (picture the edge of a piece of plywood) running across the back, roughly at the level of the seam in the middle of the back. The padding is completely inadequate and does not even cover the structural material of the chair. Sitting in this thing for an hour means back pain. After two weeks of using this chair, my back HURTS. For what it's worth, I'm not a big person. I'm 5'10 and 140 pounds. I don't usually have problems finding reasonably comfortable, supportive chairs. If you are large, or if you have a specific medical need for an ergonomic chair with back support... Or, if you're breathing. If you can read this, you need to avoid the AmazonBasics Mid-Back Office Chair.
